Department of Electric and Electronics

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering conducts academic training and research for both hardware technology and system software technology in academic disciplines related to electric power and energy systems and communications and transmission systems, areas which occupy important positions in society's infrastructure.

Specifically, the department conducts academic training to develop electrical engineering and research leaders that support Afghanistan as it responds to the globalization of society. The department also conducts globally cutting-edge research in fields that include power electronics, which forms the basis of technology used in electrical energy; pulsed power, high energy and density plasma generation, and its application; automated system control, which maintains optimal conditions for large, complex systems such as electric power and railroads; energy management, which supports advanced electric power and energy usage; electromagnetic wave circuits, including antennas essential as structural components of wireless communications systems; optical devices, which are represented by high performance semiconductor lasers and high speed optical switches, and the lightwave circuits that are made from them; advanced signal processing, which is indispensable to mobile communications and high functional communications technology; and the communications systems that integrate these technologies. Technology Transfer in Electric and Electronics for the industrial sector within Afghanistan and globe have been our aim.
